Father’s Day Is Here! Where Does the Time Go?
Y’all, Father’s Day is this weekend! Oh my goodness, gracious!! Where in the world does time go? This day brings a mix of emotions! For me it is joy, gratitude, and an ache in my heart.
A Father’s Love That Never Fades
I lost my amazing father in 2021, and oh, how I miss him something awful. He made me laugh, gave me the kind of childhood one could only dream of, and filled my life with adventures. From family vacations to everyday moments, he was always there. Whether I scraped a knee or lost my two front teeth, he was my rock. As I got older, he remained my guiding light always offering wisdom, always ready to listen, and always supporting me on any adventure I embarked on.
One Father’s Day, my sweet husband, who idolized my father, gave him a patio table and chair set. That simple gesture transformed my parents’ wide southern front porch from a forgotten space into our most beloved gathering place. We spent countless days there together, chatting and soaking in the beauty of the land. Oh, what I wouldn’t give for just one more day with my pal. He loved with his whole heart, and I see so much of him in myself. hope I honor his legacy by carrying that same love forward.
Finding Peace in God’s Plan
Losing my father was unbearably painful. I asked God why? Why take something so precious? My husband, with his unwavering faith, reminded me: his heart was in the right place, and he was right with God. Though I miss my sweet father every day, I treasure every memory. I see his influence in the life I lead, and I trust that God, in His infinite wisdom, knew what was best.
A Husband’s Love and the Beauty of Fatherhood
Now, my husband is a father! The best one at that. I hate to brag, but I believe women should know their worth. I surely didn’t until I met my Prince Charming. He swooped me off my feet completely. Did I mention that Cesar and I were just friends for the longest time? He is truly my best friend.
A good relationship is built on unconditional love. It’s having someone who never puts you down, someone who lifts you up in faith and kindness. My husband has never once spoken an ill word about me, not to my face or behind my back.He is a man of God, a protector, a provider. And despite never having a father figure himself, stepping into the role came naturally to him. He cares for our boys with a deep, unwavering love, just as my father did for me.
Since my accident, he has stepped up even more, making meals, looking after our children, and caring for me with patience and devotion. I thank God every single day for my man.
For Those Without Fathers
Father’s Day can be bittersweet, and for some, it’s a reminder of absence. Whether your father is no longer here, never was, or didn’t play the role you needed, know this: You are deeply loved.
God is a Father to the fatherless, an eternal source of comfort and strength. Family comes in many forms it’s found in friends, mentors, and those who lift us up when we need it most. Love knows no bounds, and you are never alone in that love.
